What is the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP)?
The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) provides health insurance coverage funded by the Canadian government to refugees, protected persons, and other eligible individuals. Managed by Medavie Blue Cross, IFHP covers essential services, including psychotherapy, helping newcomers maintain their physical and mental well-being during their transition to Canadian life.

How to Access Our Services

Connect: Reach out to your caseworker or directly to our admin team to start your journey.

Assess: Fill out our simple intake form. Your caseworker will assist with documents like your UCI number, doctor's referral, and consent forms.

Match: We'll pair you with a therapist whose experience and language best match your needs.

Begin Therapy: Once approved by Medavie Blue Cross, your therapy sessions can start promptly.

Continued Support: Regular sessions will help you build the strength and resilience you need for a healthy adjustment to your new life in Canada.

We strive to support everyone in need; however, due to the specialized nature of certain conditions, we currently cannot assist those actively struggling with eating disorders, suicidal ideation, or active substance addictions.​

​Our therapists provide services in English, Spanish, and Farsi. If another language is required, your caseworker can arrange external translation services to ensure you receive the care you deserve.
