Empowering Teens with DBT Skills
Our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Building Program is designed specifically for youth aged 12-16 who are living with emotional distress disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Bipolar Disorder, Depression and other similar experiences. This 12-week program consists of weekly 1-hour skills-building sessions led by one of our skilled therapists virtually (with in-person options available upon request).

The sessions focus on helping your teen build skills to combat symptoms of distress, self-harm, and intrusive thoughts. The goal is to empower your teen to manage their difficult experiences in life in a healthier and happier way!
Our Approach
This DBT Skills Program is designed to meet teens where they are in life, understanding the unique challenges and rapid changes they face. We focus on empathy, understanding, and collaboration to create a safe and non-judgmental space for teens to express their feelings and concerns.
Through this program, we help teens build essential skills to navigate these rollercoaster years effectively. Using evidence-based techniques and open dialogue, we empower them to explore their emotions, manage their worries, and learn strategies for coping with life's uncertainties. By developing skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness, our program equips teens with the confidence and resilience needed to thrive during adolescence.
Understanding the Challenges of Adolescence
Adolescence is a challenging period filled with rapid changes and complex emotions. Navigating these turbulent times can be difficult for teens, as they face intense emotions, frequent mood swings, and new experiences like dating. This phase of life, where teens prepare to become adults, can feel overwhelming because everything is changing so quickly.
Our DBT Skills Building Program is designed to help teens manage these challenges effectively by teaching essential skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. Through our program, teens will learn to navigate the complexities of adolescence with greater confidence and resilience.
Additional Individual Therapy
While our DBT Skills Building Program is not structured as individual therapy sessions, we are happy to accept your teen as a psychotherapy client outside of the program during or following the completion of the DBT Skills Program.
