Gifted Assessment for Children: Identify Potential and Support Growth

When a bright, curious child feels bored or misunderstood, it can lead to frustration, anxiety, or acting out. You see their potential so clearly, but the school system doesn’t always catch up.
A gifted assessment brings clarity. It helps you understand how your child learns and what they need to stay challenged and engaged. With the right insight, you can make sure their abilities are recognized and supported so they can thrive.
What Is a Gifted Assessment?
A gifted evaluation brings clarity. It helps you understand how your child learns, solves problems, process information and what they need to stay challenged and engaged.
With the right insight, you can open doors to enriched programs, specialized placements, and tailored learning plans so your child can thrive.

More importantly, they help you and your child feel understood and supported.
Who We Serve and Why Families Choose Us
We provide gifted assessments for children and adolescents (typically age 6+). Families choose The Wise Self because we combine expertise with warmth:
-
A child-centered, culturally sensitive approach
-
Experience with both giftedness and emotional wellbeing
-
Our reports include clear recommendations that schools may consider when planning accommodations like time, quite settings, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and accesibility services.
Our 3-Step Process for Gifted Assessment
We make the process simple and stress-free:
Parent Interview
(Up to1.5 hours)
We start by listening. This conversation helps us understand your child’s history, school experience, and emotional needs, not just their academic strengths.
Testing
(3 hours)
Your child completes standardized cognitive testing in a supportive, low-stress environment. We pace sessions to keep them comfortable and confident.
Feedback Session and Comprehensive Report Review
(1 hour)
We meet with you to explain the results in plain language, confirm giftedness if present, and share a comprehensive report with test results and interpretation, practical recommendations for school placement and enrichment programs so your child can thrive academically and emotionally.
